Acepac Minima Bag MKIII - 2 L downtube bag

Minima Bag MKIII is a compact 2 L bag for the lower frame tube that makes use of space outside the main frame triangle. It is suitable for a bottle, cookware, stove, gas cartridge, food or other gear that no longer fits inside your other bikepacking bags.

Compared with the previous generation, the latest version has a smaller diameter. It can still carry a 1 L Nalgene bottle or a 600 ml titanium mug with a stove, gas cartridge and food. The roll-top closure with a Nifco buckle allows the top of the bag to be adjusted to the amount of gear inside.

2 litres of extra storage outside the frame triangle

Minima Bag MKIII makes use of the space on the lower side of the downtube, adding storage capacity without taking up room inside the main frame triangle.

Its cylindrical shape is particularly suitable for a bottle, compact cooking equipment or other similarly shaped items. Before riding, always make sure there is sufficient clearance between the bag and the front wheel, including when the suspension fork is fully compressed.

• capacity: 2 L
• weight: 125 g
• dimensions: Ø 11 × 21 cm
• main material: Nylon Robic
• closure: roll-top with Nifco buckle

Roll-top closure with Nifco buckle

The upper opening uses a simple roll-top closure. Once the bag is packed, the top can be rolled down and secured with a Nifco buckle. The buckle is designed for easy operation while wearing gloves and for use in temperatures down to approximately -20 °C.

The roll-top design also allows the upper part of the bag to be compressed according to the amount of gear carried.

Secure attachment to the frame or fork

The bag attaches using a Hypalon-backed Velcro strap and two polypropylene straps with Camlok buckles. The locking buckles help maintain the selected strap length and keep the bag securely positioned while riding.

The area that comes into contact with the bike is reinforced with durable, abrasion-resistant Hypalon to protect the most heavily stressed section of the bag.

The Minima Bag can also be attached to a fork. It can be mounted on the handlebars using straps, although it does not include a separate stem attachment.

Padded bottom and perimeter

The bottom and perimeter of the bag are padded, providing partial protection for the contents against impacts and vibration. This is particularly useful when carrying a bottle, cookware, stove or other solid equipment.

The inner lining has a bright colour, making it easier to see the contents and find smaller items inside the bag.

Durable Nylon Robic

The outer part of the bag is made from lightweight and durable Nylon Robic. The material provides good resistance to mechanical wear and abrasion, which is particularly important for a bag mounted low on the bike.

Water-repellent, not waterproof

Minima Bag MKIII is water-repellent, not waterproof. The roll-top closure helps reduce direct water entry from above, but the construction is not designed as a fully waterproof drybag.

Because the bag is often mounted beneath the downtube, where it is strongly exposed to water, mud and spray from the front wheel, we recommend protecting moisture-sensitive equipment in a separate waterproof pouch.

What can you carry in the Minima Bag MKIII?

The cylindrical compartment can be used for various types of equipment. Suitable examples include a 1 L Nalgene bottle or a combination of a 600 ml titanium mug, stove, gas cartridge and food.

The Minima Bag name comes from the history of the product, but the current MKIII version has a smaller diameter than the original design. It is therefore not intended to carry the complete Minima cookware set.

Why choose the Minima Bag MKIII

• 2 L capacity
• low weight of just 125 g
• makes use of space beneath the downtube
• lightweight and durable Nylon Robic
• simple roll-top closure
• Nifco buckle easy to operate with gloves
• Hypalon-backed Velcro strap
• two polypropylene straps with Camlok buckles
• contact area reinforced with Hypalon
• padded bottom and perimeter
• bright inner lining for easier visibility

Great bag MTBs with no bottom mounting points. Short enough to work well with smaller frames and not to get in the wheel when the fork fully compresses. Downtube bag should be water-proof (not even water-resistant), due to amount of water, mud etc it receives. This bag is not. Seems like prone to molding on longer, wet rides. After 2 days of riding in the rain, the bag had already developed a stank.
