Acepac Bar Drybag MKIII – waterproof drybag for a bikepacking handlebar bag

Bar Drybag MKIII is a lightweight waterproof drybag available in 8 or 16 litres that, together with the Acepac Bar Harness, creates a modular bikepacking handlebar bag. It is designed for carrying clothing, a sleeping bag and other gear that you want to keep protected from water during your trip.

Durable and lightweight Nylon Robic with TPU lamination and taped seams creates a waterproof construction. The drybag can be easily removed from the harness and also used independently as a waterproof gear bag.

8 or 16 litres depending on how much gear you carry

Bar Drybag MKIII is available in two sizes – 8 L and 16 L. The smaller version is suitable for a more compact bikepacking setup and a smaller amount of gear, while the 16 L version provides more space for a sleeping bag, clothing or other equipment on multi-day trips.

• 8 L: 165 g, ø 15 × 30–45 cm
• 16 L: 215 g, ø 18.5 × 30–60 cm

Waterproof protection for your gear

The main material is Nylon Robic with TPU lamination, combining low weight with the durability needed for bikepacking. The construction is complemented by taped seams, which prevent water from entering through the stitched areas.

Bar Drybag is therefore particularly suitable for moisture-sensitive gear such as a sleeping bag or spare clothing that needs to stay dry throughout your trip.

Part of a modular handlebar bag system

Bar Drybag MKIII is designed for use with the Acepac Bar Harness. Together, they form a modular bikepacking handlebar bag, with the harness remaining attached to the bike while the drybag can be easily removed whenever needed.

The drybag is secured to the harness using a lightweight webbing chain, hook-and-loop fastener and plastic hook. This system makes the drybag easy to install while helping keep it securely in place.

The Bar Harness is not included and must be purchased separately.

Use the drybag on its own

Bar Drybag is not limited to use on the handlebars. Once removed from the harness, it works as a standalone waterproof gear bag that can also be used for travelling, bivouacking or organising equipment inside other luggage.

The modular construction is also practical for everyday packing on multi-day trips. The harness can stay on the bike while you take only the drybag and your gear with you.

Versatile additional attachment options

A webbing chain on the underside of the drybag allows it to be attached, for example, to the side compression straps of a backpack. This is useful when moving through difficult terrain or transporting the bike and temporarily removing the bag from the handlebars.

The webbing chain can also be used when carrying additional equipment, such as tent poles, secured externally under the compression straps of the Bar Harness. It helps limit unwanted movement and contact with the bike.

Low weight, durable construction

High-stress seams are reinforced with Bartack stitching, while thicker polyester threads are used to increase the strength of the construction.

Thanks to its simple construction, the weight remains low – 165 g for the 8 L version and 215 g for the 16 L version.
