Acepac Bar Harness MKIII - mounting system for a modular bikepacking handlebar bag
Bar Harness MKIII is a durable handlebar mounting system that, together with the waterproof Acepac Bar Drybag, creates a modular bikepacking handlebar bag. The harness stays attached to the bike, while the drybag can be easily removed, packed away from the bike and taken with you when you reach your destination.
The durable Nylon Robic construction is reinforced with an HDPE plate and aluminium alloy reinforcement, helping the system maintain its shape and stability under load. Bar Harness MKIII is designed for the Bar Drybag in 8 L or 16 L sizes, but it can also be used with other suitable bags or drybags.

Modular system: the harness stays on the bike
The main advantage of the Bar Harness + Bar Drybag combination is the separation of the mounting system from the storage bag itself. The harness can remain attached to the handlebars while you remove only the waterproof drybag with your gear.
This makes everyday packing easier on multi-day trips. Pack the Bar Drybag away from the bike, place it into the harness and secure it with the straps. At the end of the ride, simply remove the drybag without taking the entire mounting system off the handlebars.
The Bar Drybag is not included and must be purchased separately.

For both 8 L and 16 L Bar Drybags
Bar Harness MKIII is designed for use with the Acepac Bar Drybag in 8 L or 16 L sizes. One mounting system can therefore be combined with different drybag sizes depending on the length of your trip and the amount of gear you need to carry.
The smaller 8 L version is ideal for a more compact bikepacking setup, while the 16 L drybag provides more room for a sleeping bag, clothing or other lightweight gear on multi-day trips.
The harness is not limited to the original Bar Drybag. It can also be used with other suitable bags or drybags, provided they can be safely secured in the system.

Handlebar spacers create clearance around controls and cables
A pair of spacers is positioned between the harness and the handlebars. They create useful clearance between the luggage and the handlebars and help reduce contact with brake levers, cables and hoses.
The harness is attached using hook-and-loop straps for straightforward installation, while additional securing straps with buckles help keep the system reliably in place.
Before riding, always check that the bag does not interfere with the brake or shift levers, cables or hoses, and that there is sufficient clearance above the front wheel.

Rigid construction for a loaded handlebar bag
The main material is durable Nylon Robic. The construction is reinforced with an HDPE plate and aluminium alloy reinforcement, which increase rigidity and help the system maintain its shape under load.
The result is a stable base for the drybag that helps keep the load under control on tarmac, gravel roads and rougher terrain.

Extra storage with the Bar Bag MKIII
If you want to keep more small essentials within easy reach while riding, you can also attach the Acepac Bar Bag MKIII to the Bar Harness and increase the total storage space on the handlebars.
Bulkier gear can be stored in the Bar Drybag, while food, gloves, electronics and other items you need quick access to remain in the Bar Bag. Together, the individual components create a flexible modular system that can be adapted to the length and character of your trip.
Durable construction for bikepacking
High-stress seams are reinforced with Bartack stitching, while thicker polyester threads are used to increase the strength of the construction.
These areas are exposed to vibration, shifting loads and repeated stress from securing and tightening the straps while riding.
