Acepac Saddle Harness MKIII – mounting system for a modular bikepacking saddle bag
Saddle Harness MKIII is a durable under-saddle mounting system that, together with the waterproof Acepac Saddle Drybag, creates a modular bikepacking saddle bag. The harness stays attached to the bike, while the drybag itself can be easily removed, packed away from the bike and taken with you when you reach your destination.
The Nylon Robic construction is reinforced with an HDPE plate and an aluminium alloy reinforcement that help maintain the shape and stability of the system even when loaded. Saddle Harness is designed for the Saddle Drybag in 8 or 16 litre sizes, but it can also be used with other suitable bags or drybags.

Modular saddle bag system: the harness stays on the bike
The main advantage of the Saddle Harness + Saddle Drybag system is the separation of the mounting system from the storage bag itself. The harness can remain attached under the saddle while you remove only the waterproof drybag with your gear.
This makes everyday packing much easier on multi-day trips. Simply pack the Saddle Drybag away from the bike, place it into the harness and secure it with the straps. At the end of the ride, you can remove the drybag without taking the entire mounting system off the bike.
The Saddle Drybag is not included and must be purchased separately.

For both 8 L and 16 L Saddle Drybags
Saddle Harness MKIII is designed for use with the Acepac Saddle Drybag in 8 L or 16 L sizes. One mounting system can therefore be combined with different drybag sizes depending on the length of your trip and the amount of gear you need to carry.
The smaller drybag is ideal for a more compact bikepacking setup, while the 16 L version provides more room for a sleeping bag, clothing and other lightweight gear on multi-day trips.
The harness is not limited to the original Saddle Drybag – its construction also allows you to use other suitable bags or drybags, provided they can be securely fixed in the system.

Rigid construction for a loaded saddle bag
The main material is durable Nylon Robic. The construction is reinforced with an HDPE plate and aluminium alloy reinforcement, which increase rigidity and help the system maintain its shape under load.
The result is a stable base for the drybag that helps keep the load under control beneath the saddle, even when riding off-road.

Durable stitching for bikepacking off-road
High-stress seams are reinforced with Bartack stitching. Thicker polyester threads are used to increase the strength of the connections.
These construction details are especially important on a bikepacking saddle bag, which is exposed to vibration, shifting loads and repeated stress from tightening and securing the straps during riding.
Grey and Black differ in the centre strap
The current Grey version uses a plastic buckle with a cam-lock on the centre strap, replacing the original aluminium hook. This solution makes handling easier and helps provide more secure fastening.
The current Black version is still equipped with an aluminium hook.

Make sure there is enough clearance above the rear wheel
Before riding, always check that there is sufficient clearance between the loaded saddle bag and the rear wheel. On full-suspension bikes, the full travel of the rear suspension must be taken into account. With dropper posts, also consider the change in saddle position when the seatpost is lowered.
