Acepac Bar Bag MKIII – 5 L handlebar bag for bikepacking

Bar Bag MKIII is a practical 5 L bikepacking handlebar bag that keeps frequently used gear within easy reach while riding. It can be mounted directly on the handlebars or combined with the Bar Roll MKIII or Bar Harness MKIII to expand the storage capacity of your bikepacking setup.

The main compartment features a removable waterproof liner with taped seams. A front pocket with a waterproof YKK zipper and practical side pockets provide quick access to smaller items. Thanks to the removable shoulder strap, the bag can also be easily carried with you when you leave the bike.

Five litres of gear within easy reach

The 5 L capacity provides plenty of room for items you want to access easily during the day – such as food, gloves, a wind jacket, electronics or other small essentials.

Inside the main compartment there is also a concealed mesh organiser that helps keep smaller items separate from the rest of your gear.

Use it on its own or as part of a larger handlebar system

Bar Bag MKIII can be mounted directly on the handlebars and used as a standalone handlebar bag. If you need more storage space, it can also be attached to the Acepac Bar Roll MKIII or Bar Harness MKIII.

In this setup, the Bar Bag works as an easily accessible front pocket for a larger bikepacking system – bulky gear can be stored in the Bar Roll or Drybag, while items needed during the ride remain close at hand in the Bar Bag.

Water protection: the inner liner is waterproof

The outer bag is made from lightweight and durable Nylon Robic with a PU coating rated to 1,500 mm H₂O. The outer construction itself, however, is not considered fully waterproof.

Water protection for the contents is provided primarily by the removable inner liner made from Nylon RipStop with a PU coating rated to 5,000 mm H₂O and taped seams. When properly closed, it protects the contents of the main compartment from water.

The separate liner also makes packing easier – you can pack your gear away from the bike and then place the entire liner inside the Bar Bag.

Quick access without opening the main compartment

The front features a zip pocket with a waterproof two-way YKK zipper, giving you quick access to frequently used items without opening the main compartment.

The zipper pulls are made from durable, non-slip Hypalon, making them easy to operate even while wearing cycling gloves.

Small side pockets provide additional storage for temporary items such as energy-bar wrappers and other small pieces of rubbish that you do not want to leave behind on the trail.

Roll-top closure and secure straps

The main compartment uses a roll-top closure, allowing the contents to be compressed and securely closed. The Grey version uses an aluminium hook to secure the roll-top, while the current Black version uses a plastic buckle.

The polypropylene straps have a textured surface that helps prevent them from slipping through the buckles. The strap material is also 100% recyclable.

High-stress seams are reinforced with Bartack stitching, while thicker polyester threads are used to increase the strength of the construction.

From the bike straight onto your shoulder

Bar Bag MKIII comes with a removable shoulder strap. When you stop, there is no need to transfer your gear to another bag – simply remove the Bar Bag from the bike, attach the strap and take it with you.

This is especially practical when stopping for food, shopping, travelling by train or whenever you do not want to leave valuables on the bike.
